ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - After finishing third in the Southeastern Conference regular season, the No. 21 Ole Miss Rebels enter the SEC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded Auburn in Wednesday's first round match at 2:30 p.m. at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

The match will be streamed live on SECSports.com as part of the SEC Digital Network.

Ole Miss is 13-4-2 on the season and finished 7-2-2 in league play, the program's second-best SEC mark in its history. Auburn is 9-7-3 overall and 6-5 in SEC games. Both teams are hot entering the tournament, as the Rebels have just one loss in their last nine outings, and the Tigers have won each of their last three matches.

"I think the girls are excited and motivated to make a run in this tournament," said Rebel head coach Steve Holeman, who has led his team to 13 straight league tournament appearances, a feat matched only by the Florida Gators. "We are playing with a lot of confidence. I think we have shown throughout the season that we can play with anyone, so we're here to win the tournament."

"I think the win on Sunday was important for our confidence coming into the tournament," said senior team captain Hannah Weatherly. "We've very confident, and we're excited about the opportunity we have in front of us. We're ready to go out and win."

The Rebels are led by a stout defense and a pair of All-SEC seniors in midfielder Danielle Johnson and forward Weatherly. Ole Miss ranks 13th in the nation with a 0.56 goals-against average and finished league play with the best average among the 12 SEC teams at 0.68. The Rebels also boast the league's highest scoring average with 2.21 goals per game, led by Weatherly's nine goals. Johnson is the first four-time All-SEC selection in school history and has five goals and four assists on the year.

Ole Miss won a 3-2 double-overtime thriller over Auburn in the Rebels' SEC opener back on Sept. 27 in Oxford. Weatherly connected on a penalty kick in the 106th minute as Ole Miss remained unbeaten against Auburn in their last six meetings.

"Auburn has a very strong team and they come into the tournament with a lot of momentum," Holeman said. "They have a lot of dangerous attackers. It's a rematch with them after we won in double-overtime during the regular season. We will need to keep them under pressure and possess the ball well, and obviously find a way to finish when we create opportunities."

Ole Miss is 5-12 all-time in SEC Tournament games and is looking for its first win since 2004. The Rebels and Tigers have met twice before in the SEC Tournament and have split the pair of meetings. Auburn won 2-1 in the second round in 2001 and Ole Miss upset the ninth-ranked Tigers 3-0 in the first round in 2004.
