Backcourt Shines In Big Rebel Victory

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Four Rebel guards scored in double figures and Ole Miss (2-0) cruised to a 90-53 win over the Alabama State Hornets (0-1) on Monday evening at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Terrico White led all scorers with 19 points. Eniel Polynice added 17 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals for the Rebels. Chris Warren and Zach Graham added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Ole Miss shot 34-of-69, 49 percent, from the field. 

Menji Mundadi had 13 points for Alabama State, who kept the deficit within single digits until the final six minutes of the first half. 

The Rebels led 43-24 at halftime on the strength of a 10-0 run, highlighted by a three-point play from DeAundre Cranston. Alabama State was limited to eight first half baskets and missed all seven three-point attempts. 

Ole Miss led by as many as 39 points in the second half.
