Diamond Rebels Add Florida Trio To 2010 Signing Class
11/17/2009 University of Mississippi
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss added a trio of standout players from the Sunshine State with the signing of Will Allen, Austin Anderson and Casey Mulholland, Rebel head coach Mike Bianco announced on Tuesday.

The trio are the latest announced signees and join previously announced signees Ryan Bolden, Casey Greene, Austin Hartzog, Jimel Judon, Mike Mayers and Bobby Wahl.

"We went into the state of Florida grabbed three of the top recruits in the state - and nation, for that matter," said assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Rob Reinstetle. "Will Allen is one of the top catchers in the state of Florida and the nation, as evidenced by his selection to compete with USA Baseball. Austin Anderson is a phenomenal defensive shortstop with actions that remind you of Kevin Mort. Casey Mulholland is one of the top arms in the state of Florida and in the country as a part of the 2010 signing class."

Allen, a 6-4 catcher and first baseman, comes to the Rebels from Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida. Allen hit .395 last season with seven home runs, 10 doubles and 30 RBI as he helped lead Buchholz to the Regional finals for the third consecutive season. He also threw out 10 runners on the season at second base and was named a first team All-State selection in class 6A.

Allen was ranked in the Top 200 players in the nation by PerfectGame. He was also selected to play for the USA Baseball's Team USA 16U team in 2008.

Allen chose Ole Miss over Florida.

Anderson, a 5-11 middle infielder, comes to the Rebels from Mount Dora High School in Mount Dora, Florida. The rising senior hit .510 last season with a home run, seven triples and nine doubles. He also competed in summer league ball with the Orlando Scorpions, playing alongside fellow signees Allen and Mulholland.

Anderson selected the Rebels over Florida State and North Florida.

Mulholland, a 6-3 right-handed pitcher and outfielder, comes to the Rebels from The Pendleton School in Bradenton, Florida. He is ranked as one of the nation's Top 100 players by both Perfect Game and Baseball America.

The right-hander posted a 6-0 record with a 1.39 ERA last season as he struck out 73 batters and walked only 10 in his 40.2 innings of work. He also hit well, batting .355 with five doubles, three triples and eight RBI as he helped his high school to a 29-1 record and final ranking of seventh nationally.

Mulholland was selected to play in the Under Armour All-America game this past summer.

Mulholland chose Ole Miss over Clemson, North Carolina, LSU, Miami, Florida and Central Florida.
