OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss baseball fans and families will have one more perk available this weekend when coming to the newly renovated Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field for the Rebels’ series against SEC foe Alabama.

Not only was the grandstand renovated, but the playground in left field has been renovated and will reopen this weekend with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. down by the left field foul pole. The first 15 kids in attendance will receive a free toy.

The playground, which was removed for the renovations to the grandstand seating, has been rebuilt in the left field lounge area at Oakes Pavilion and is provided by the Ernie Labarge Bullpen Club for the use of children in attendance at Rebel home games.

The play area – valued at $50,000 - was donated to the University by the Ernie Labarge Bullpen club and was reconstructed recently by members of the club and student and community volunteers from the Oxford and Ole Miss area. For more information on the organization, visit www.ErnieLabargeBullpenClub.com.

Ole Miss and Alabama will kick-off the three-game series this weekend at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
