The Rebels fell behind early, but chipped away at the lead and tied the game at five in the ninth before claiming the win on the Stuyverson walk off. Stuyverson was one of four Rebels to record multiple hits on the night as he went 2-for-5 at the plate. Each starter notched a hit on the night as Ole Miss posted 13 hits in the game. Scott Bittle (3-1) picked up the win as he entered the game in the 10th and held the Jaguars in check before the Rebel rally in the 10th. Bittle relieved Rory McKean who had pitched 3.1 scoreless innings prior to Bittle’s entry as the two pitchers allowed Ole Miss the chance to rally. Blake Bryan (0-1) took the loss as he entered the game in the 10th and recorded an out before giving up the home run to Stuyverson. “The confidence we’re playing with right now was reflected in our ability to rally tonight,” said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco. “That’s the difference in this team the last couple of weeks. You could see the energy and the swings were still there. When you have that, you’re going to keep chipping away and that’s what we did tonight.” Ole Miss scored first inning as Fuller Smith scored on a single up the middle from Michael Guerrero. Fuller Smith singled to open the frame before moving to third on a single from Matt Smith and scoring on the single from Guerrero. Fuller Smith opened the bottom half of the third with a solo shot to right center, cutting the lead to 5-2 in favor of the Jaguars. Ole Miss continued to chip away at the lead in the fourth inning as Sean Stuyverson stole home to cut the lead to 5-3 on a double steal attempt. Stuyverson singled up the middle before moving to third on a single through the right side from Brett Basham. The Rebels pulled within one in the sixth inning when Zach Miller scored from first on a double to the wall in right center from Tim Ferguson. Miller singled to open the inning.
