Open The Boxx

Rebel senior Kristi Boxx remembers the day she stepped on campus and had her first meeting as part of the Ole Miss women's tennis team.  She remembers then senior Mimi Renaudin telling her and the other freshmen to savor every moment that it goes by fast.  Fast forward three years later, and Boxx is about to conclude a stellar career for the Red and Blue.

Boxx didn't have to go far to achieve a high level of success team-wise or individually.  The Grenada, Miss., native has led the Rebels to three straight NCAA appearances--with a fourth on the way--the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, and an SEC Western Division Championship.  Individually, she just became the second player in program history to earn All-SEC first team honors all four years in addition to being an All-American.   She has been nationally ranked in singles and doubles her entire career and currently is ranked No. 10 in singles and No. 6 in doubles.  Boxx also became the second second player in program history to achieve 200 combined wins in singles and doubles.  Last week Clarion-Ledger beat writer Hugh Kellenberger caught up with the Mississippi native for a feature.
