Junior quarterback Bo Wallace was 6 of 10 for 125 yards with an interception in Saturday's scrimmage. He said he felt he had three good practices entering Saturday's scrimmage, adding that he was disappointed in his read on the interception.

The defense had a pair of interceptions in the scrimmage, one by sophomore safety Chief Brown of senior quarterback Barry Brunetti, the other by junior safety Cody Prewitt of junior quarterback Bo Wallace. Freshman defensive end Robert Nkemdiche was held out of Saturday's scrimmage with a strained groin, but defensive coordinator Dave Wommack said he has been pleased with his progress in fall practice. Wommack said he feels good about 20 players knowing the defense, inside and out, that they could put in game, particularly at linebacker and defensive line. In the secondary, Wommack said it's about senior cornerback Charles Sawyer and junior cornerback Senquez Golson getting healthy, and younger players there getting better with their eyes.

Offensive coordinator Dan Werner said they didn't handle the rainy conditions very well, adding that they will get a lot of teaching out of the scrimmage before they return to the practice field for two practices on Monday. The lone scoring play in the scrimmage was an 8-yard touchdown pass over the middle from Brunetti to junior tight end Nick Parker.
