Rebels Look To Move Past 4-1 Loss To Florida

Sophomore Bethany Bunker netted her third goal of the season, but the one goal was not enough, as No. 7 Florida held on for the 4-1 win over No. 24 Ole Miss on Friday night.

"We got to score goals, and we got to get more dangerous," head coach Matt Mott said. "And we didn't do that enough tonight. We got to get more pressure on the ball. We didn't get enough pressure on the ball, and it allowed them to pass the ball around us, and we chased the ball ball too much.

"We have to come out stronger in the beginning," Bunker said. "They came out on the front foot, and their first three shots were three goals, so we have to come out stronger in the beginning and play hard for the whole game."

It's a quick turnaround for the Rebels, as they prepare for Auburn on Sunday, with a game time set for 1 p.m. at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. The Tigers are 4-5-1 overall, with an 0-2-0 SEC record, coming off a 2-1 loss at South Carolina.

"We will watch some film in the morning and look at this game, then we will flush it," Mott said. "We got to get past this one as quick as we can and get ready for Auburn. We got to learn from (Friday) certainly. We did some things not typical of what we have been."

I am not and never have been an Ole Miss fan. I am however a Coach Freeze fan. I like what he represents in today's world of big time sports and what he stands for in leading young men of today into a more responsible role. He is everything that Ole Miss has never had. I am on his band wagon winning or losing.
