As the Ole Miss women's golf team tees it up this weekend at the 2017 SEC Championships at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, OleMissSports.com tagged along to record some of the behind-the-scenes action and each day will bring five observations from the round.

Round Two - Sunday April 22

Back Nine Is Rebel Time

For the second straight day Ole Miss saw some great results on the back nine. Junior Katy Harris (St. Simons Island, Ga.) was 1-under on the back nine with two of her six birdies coming in the final nine holes while freshman Pi-Lillebi Hermansson (Djursholm, Sweden) was also 1-under on the final nine holes with a birdie on No. 14. Senior Maria Toennessen rounded out the Rebels stellar play on the back nine, shooting even par to close the day at 2-over par 74.

Catching Up With Katy Harris (Video)

After her blistering round of 69, OleMissSports.com caught up with junior Katy Harris to talk about her round:

Note: Shoutout to Coach Drew for starting the Sprinter during the interview AND nice dance moves Marti!

Ole Miss By The Numbers

595 - Ole Miss' two-round score of 595 marks the first time since the 2010 Championship in which the Rebels have fired back-to-back sub-300 rounds. In 2010, the Rebels fired three consecutive rounds under 300 en route to an eighth-place finish.

296 - Ole Miss' first round 296 is the lowest opening round of the SEC Championships for the Rebels since shooting a 284 in 2010.

69- Katy Harris' second round 69 is the lowest round for an Ole Miss golfer in the SEC Championship since Natalie Gleadall shot a 68 in the second round in the 2011 SEC championship.

6-For the second consecutive round, Ole Miss has had a player card six birdies. In the first round Martina Flori tallied six birdies while in the second round Katy Harris added six birdies. Through two rounds, Ole Miss has 29 birdies.

Rivalry Time

When one things of Rebel rivals, Mississippi State and LSU come to mind and ironically enough the Rebels were pair with both of them through the first two rounds of the SEC Championship. Ole Miss teed off with LSU to open action in Friday and played with in-state rival Mississippi State on Saturday. In #RivalryWatch, LSU is sitting in eighth place, Ole Miss is in 11th place and Mississippi State is in 12th place entering Sunday's final round. Oh and the Rebels and Bulldogs will be playing together again in Sunday's final round.

Day Two Outfit

The Rebels put on the stripes for Saturdays' round. Ole Miss wore navy stripped racer back tops, with white bottoms and topped it off with a red hat. #Stylish

Geography Time With Katy Harris

Katy Harris is quite the good golfer, as demonstrated by her 69 in today's round, but geography may (or may not) be her strong suit.

Conversation at lunch:

Team: Katy, what are the two states that aren't part of the contiguous United States?

Katy: "I'm going to throw up ... let me think. Okay ... Hawaii

Team: (Clapping) That's one

Katy:  "And ... New York"

Madisen: "What do Hawaii and New York have in common?"

Katy: They are both over there (Points to her left) and New York is an island

Team: New York is not an island

Katy: No wait, its Alaska

Team: YAY

#GeographyLessonsWithKaty

Note: This is all in good fun, we can't all be good at everything and hey she did fire a 69 today:)

How can you have five straight top 25 recruiting classes and look as bad as Ole Miss has this year. Easy lack of coaching fundamentals. Look at Mason at Vandy, nothing but 2 and 3 star recruits out of high school and he developers players that want to win. Hugh freeze has 3, 4 & 5 recruits and he expects them to win because of what they were in High School. Mr. Freeze you have not been teaching the fundamentals of football or winning in life. Mr. Freeze you have quit on your players because you have some false expectations of what they are instead of what you can develop in them. Either do your job or quit. Oh yea, please quit running your smoke and mirrors offense, everyone has figured it out. Run a physical offense that can open up holes for your running backs and then your pass attack want require 12 are 14 four and five star receivers. Mr. Freeze you have problems and you need to know that you are not smarter than the rest of the coaches in the SEC.

Not every pass can be caught. Too low, too short whatever. Not every Kelly pass is perfect. Records were broken by receivers also. But they sre not going to catch every ball thrown. The loss to Auburn was not one players fault. You win or lose as a team.
