Vaught Society

The Vaught Society serves as the leadership fundraising entity under the UMAA Foundation in support of Ole Miss Athletics and its quest for championships. This organization is philanthropic in nature, and its members are invested in the enhancement of Rebel Athletics. These funds are critical in elevating Ole Miss Athletics to nationally competitive levels on an annual basis by providing the resources for world-class facilities, coaches, and scholarship support.

Executive Summary

Coach John Vaught is one of the most recognizable names in the history of college football due to the extraordinary level of success he enjoyed while at Ole Miss.  During his tenure, the Rebels experienced heights never before seen in the history of the program.  As such, the Vaught Society carries his namesake.

The Vaught Society was started in 2005 as an exclusive group of donors that had contributed over $350,000 in their lifetime to Ole Miss Athletics. These generous individuals have most certainly built the foundation that we are so proud to stand on today. In addition, Ole Miss Athletics has made tremendous strides in the past fifteen years in terms of departmental budget growth and facility construction and enhancements. However, the Southeastern Conference continues to be the most powerful in the nation and its members have made similar strides.  As such, we must reach out to the masses in an effort to substantially increase philanthropic giving through what is being called the Vaught Society Initial Public Offering (IPO). The new structure of the Vaught Society is much more inclusive to allow for more donors to invest in the future of Ole Miss Athletics. By increasing our donor base with more “shareholders” we can generate the resources necessary to consistently compete in the SEC while enhancing communication and engagement through a broad-based and exciting stewardship program.

Initial Public Offering

We are pleased to announce the Initial Public Offering of the Vaught Society in an effort to reach out to the thousands of Ole Miss fans that want to support the program.  Ole Miss Athletics has a tremendously rich history of success, alumni pride, and tradition. However, the current success across all programs is unique to the modern history of the department. We strongly believe that Ole Miss Athletics can be nationally competitive across all sport programs on an annual basis.

Please consider investing in Ole Miss Athletics by becoming a Shareholder in the new Vaught Society as detailed below. Resources win championships and the success of this program will strongly position the Rebels within the Southeastern Conference and throughout the nation.

Where is the money going?

The Vaught Society will serve as the philanthropic fundraising arm of Ole Miss Athletics for many years to come. Currently the emphasis is facilities, so all proceeds will go toward the state-of-the-art facilities recently constructed, as well as the continued effort to enhance athletics facilities and improve our programs. After successfully funding these facilities, Ole Miss Athletics will be in a strong position to begin planning and implementing a strategy to expand Vaught Hemingway Stadium by “bowling in” the North End-Zone.
