Assistant Athletic Trainer

Derionne Brooks, MS, ATC, currently serves as the athletic trainer for the softball team. Prior to her current role, she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with primary responsibilities with the men’s tennis, rifle, and cheerleading teams.

Prior to her time at Ole Miss, she spent a season at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she worked with the softball and tennis teams. 

Brooks earned her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Louisiana State University in 2014. During her time there, she served as an athletic training student for the football and gymnastics teams, along with multiple sports at Dutchtown High School. She also served as a summer intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013.

In 2017, Brooks earned her master’s of science in nutrition from the University of Mississippi.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Brooks is a board certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She has certifications in CPR/AED and Graston Technique.
