Ole Miss Athletics expanded its philanthropy efforts with the addition of Allen Greene to the UMAA Foundation as Major Gifts Officer in November of 2009. Since then, he has been elevated twice and currently represents the UMAA Foundation as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development/Priority Seating.
Entering his third year with the UMAA Foundation, Greene's current responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of football, basketball and baseball priority seating drives and ticket sales, which are the main revenue streams for the UMAA Foundation. In addition to creating new ways to generate revenue from priority seating, Greene is also responsible for major gift fundraising.
Greene's very first year with Ole Miss proved to be extremely successful. The UMAA Foundation's Major Gifts staff posted unprecedented philanthropic numbers in support of the Vaught Society. The revamped flagship giving program experienced a revitalized membership base that was responsible for nearly $11 million for facility enhancements. Greene's ability to garner support for Rebel Athletics was encouraging, thus his promotion to Assistant Athletics Director for Development in January of 2011.
Upon his arrival, Greene was charged with finding, cultivating and stewarding those who have the passion to philanthropically support Ole Miss Athletics with gift commitments of $25,000 and above. Additionally, he oversaw the development and implementation of the 5-Star Fund, a newly created philanthropic athletics annual fund aimed at attracting the masses. He also provided athletics updates to University constituents on-campus and off-campus, and was involved with donor relations/events and other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
A native of Seattle, Wash., Greene came to Oxford from his alma mater Notre Dame, where he spent the previous two years as program coordinator for Athletics Advancement. He was responsible for the development and execution of various stewardship programs, in addition to numerous on-campus and off-campus events for Athletics Advancement.
Before joining the Notre Dame development staff, Greene served five years in the Irish Compliance Office. As the Coordinator of Compliance, he oversaw the certification of student-athlete eligibility and handled all technology issues within the office, including maintaining the compliance database and website.
Prior to returning to Notre Dame, Greene spent two years at Shamrock Net Design, LLC in South Bend, Ind. He was hired as a strategic consultant and project manager with the company in September of 2001 and then was promoted to Director of Finance and Internal Operations a year later. He also was an assistant property manager for Common Ground Realty in Philadelphia, Pa., before his employment at Shamrock Net Design.
As a student-athlete, Greene was a three-year starter in the Notre Dame outfield before signing with the New York Yankees after his junior season, as a ninth-round Major League Draft selection. He played in that organization's minor league system from June of 1998 until March of 2001.
He graduated from Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in finance, has a master's degree in liberal studies from Indiana University and has completed the Sports Management Institute Executive Program (SMI).
Greene and his wife, Christy, have two children - daughter, Rian and son, Samuel.
