Jon Nance began his career in 2008 where he served one year as an administrative intern in the office of student-athlete development. He was then promoted to academic counselor for football and rifle in 2009. He is now the lead academic counselor for track and field, and remains a counselor for football. As an academic counselor, he helps monitor student-athletes' academic and eligibility progress as well as many other tasks. Nance is also responsible for managing the textbook program for scholarship student-athletes as well as being in charge of the Rebel Reconnect program for former student-athletes returning to complete their degrees.

Before joining the Rebels, Nance had a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for football at the University of Arkansas in the Bogle Academic Center. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2005, and master's degree in sports management in 2009, both from the University of Arkansas.

Nance and his wife, Ashlee, have one son, Pate.
