Academic Counselor

Alma Mater:

Justin Light joined the FedEx Student-Athlete Success Center staff in 2010. He currently serves as senior academic counselor for football, women’s tennis, and men's golf. He also is responsible for supervising the department's intern/graduate assistant and work study programs, assists in managing internal communications within the FedEx Academic Center, and maintains constant contact with the student-athletes via digital signage.

Prior to Ole Miss, Light served as a graduate assistant for men's golf at the University of Tennessee. He earned his Master of Science degree in sport management in 2009 and Bachelor of Science degree in communications in 2008 from Tennessee.

Light has been a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) since 2012. In 2015, he became a graduate of the N4A’s Professional Development Institute (PDI) for the New Practitioner track. He became individually certified in 2013 and presented at the organization's national conference for the first time in 2014. Light also serves as a member of the N4A Model Practices and Membership committees.

A Greeneville, Tennessee, native, he is married to Dr. Sarah Swauger-Light.
