OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss soccer team and senior-to-be Alix Hildal each recently earned academic honors from the NSCAA.
As a team, the Rebels posted a GPA above 3.0 for the fall semester to earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 academic year. Ole Miss recorded a 3.10 GPA under head coach Matt Mott and Ole Miss was one of 571 teams nationally to record at least a 3.0 GPA.
“We are very proud to receive the NSCAA Team Academic Award,” Mott said. “Academics are our number one priority. It speaks volumes to the efforts and quality of our student-athlete academics support office.”
Individually, Hildal a marketing major who posted a 3.57 GPA for the fall semester, was named to the 2011 NCAA Women’s Division I All-South Third Team. As a junior this fall, Hildal was named to the All-SEC Second Team for the second consecutive season.
“I am very happy for Alix,” Mott said. “Being selected to the All-Region team is a prestigious honor and she is very deserving.”
