Basil Wetherington is in his second season as the Coordinator of Operations for the Ole Miss track & field and cross country programs.
Wetherington is responsible for a wide variety of day-to-day functions for the Rebels, including student-athlete development, equipment management, travel arrangements and scheduling.
Prior to his arrival in Oxford, Wetherington was a volunteer coach for several youth organizations over the previous five years, including the Gainesville (Fla.) Striders Track & Field Club. He holds a certificate in track & field technical coaching from the USTFCCCA.
The 2002 University of Florida graduate worked as a biological scientist in the Department of Environmental Horticulture at his alma mater. His tasks included managing field operations and research grants for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and serving as a project manager, among other duties.
A native of Englewood, Fla., Wetherington has also worked as an event planner for associations as well as an assistant golf course superintendent throughout his career.
He and his wife, Karre, live in Oxford with their son, Connor Brian, and daughter, Peyton Brooke.
