AUBURN, Ala. -- It was a stellar weekend for Ole Miss at the Tiger Track Classic, as the Rebels posted three event victories, one school record and several marks that rank them among the NCAA's best this outdoor season.

"I thought overall this was one of our more complete meets," head coach Brian O'Neal said. "I was really proud of our attitude and effort. It was probably the best we've had this outdoor season. We knew the challenge this weekend was facing a lot of good teams across the board, and I thought we performed admirably. Now our task is to get back on a short week and get ready for the Border Clash on Friday."

Victories went to junior Dameon Morgan in the 800 meters (1:51.04) and senior Phillip Young in both the long jump (wind-assisted 25-4.75) and triple jump (52-2.75). Young's triple jump ranks him among the top 10 in the nation this season, while his long jump would rank high nationally if not for a +5.3 tailwind that is over the +4.0 limit allowed for NCAA championship qualifying purposes.

Sophomore Jalen Miller clocked a season-best 10.38 to place third overall and first among collegians in the 100 meters. His time will also rank him highly on the NCAA outdoor list.

Senior Robert Semien placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.14 that also ranks him among the nation's leaders.

Junior Adam Aguirre matched his season best of 6-10.75 in the high jump to place fourth Saturday.

On Friday, redshirt-freshman Dempsey McGuigan placed runner-up in the hammer throw with a mark of 212-7, surpassing teammate Nathan Loe's previous school record of 210-3 from last season. His mark should rank among the nation's top 20 after this weekend's results are compiled. Loe was fourth on Friday with a heave of 196-7, while Kevin Conway finished fifth with a mark of 194-3.

The sprinters and jumpers led a scintillating weekend for the Ole Miss women in Auburn.

The 100 and 200 meter runs were particularly strong events for the Rebels.

In the 100, freshman Shannon Ray was runner-up and first among collegians with a personal-best time of 11.41 that ranks her No. 2 in school history and among the top 10 in the nation this year. She lowered her previous all-time best of 11.74 by more than .3 seconds. Senior Jhorden Hunter finished fifth in a season-best 11.58, and freshman Nicole Henderson was seventh in 11.75. Both Hunter and Henderson rank top 12 in school history.

Of 72 runners in the 200 meters in Auburn, Ole Miss placed second, third and fourth in Henderson (23.95), Breanna Tate (24.06) and Ray (24.08).

The 4x100-meter relay squad of Henderson, Ray, Khadijah Suleman and Hunter finished runner-up in 44.81, just off their season-best of 44.73 that ranks them top 10 in the nation this year.

The long jump was another standout event for the Rebels, as seniors Kierra White and Fabia McDonald placed fourth and seventh with marks of 20-1 and 19-3.5, respectively. White's jump was a season best that should rank her among the top 20 or 25 in the country.

Freshman Brooke Feldmeier, who was an indoor All-American in the 800 meters and has yet to race at that distance outdoors, was fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 54.74 that ranks her eighth in school history.

In the 100-meter hurdles, another freshman, Brittany Kelly, clocked 13.89 to finish seventh overall. Her personal-best time ranks her No. 8 in school history.

Ole Miss is back in action Friday, April 10, at the Mississippi vs. Alabama Border War in Starkville.
