Jonesboro, Ark. - The Ole Miss Track and Field team took home seven first place finishes on Saturday, at the 16th Annual Kickoff Klassic hosted by Arkansas State University.

"We competed very well today," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "This was a great start to our indoor season. I thought we had a great fall, but I was interested to see how we would do in competition."

Sophomore Derek McGuire's (Watertown, N.Y.) first place finish in the shot put (16.44), highlighted the men's effort. Also, on the men's side, freshman Rodney Lockhart placed second in the 400 meter dash (46.54), junior Charles Baily finished second in the long jump (7.06) and freshman Justin Farmer placed second in the 200 meter dash (21.57).
