BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Ole Miss' Brooke Feldmeier has been named Southeastern Conference Women's Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday.

Feldmeier won the Drake Relays 800-meter title over the weekend with a time of 2:05.96 that was the second-best of any NCAA woman last weekend. Her performance came one week after setting the school record with a 2:05.29 in Virginia.

The Olympia, Washington, native captured one of four Drake Relays titles for the Rebels and made it 10 straight years that at least one Ole Miss athlete has been a Drake Relays champion. Hers was the school's first triumph in the women's 800 meters.

Feldmeier, who was SEC runner-up and a first team All-American in the 800 indoors, ranks 14th in the country and first among all freshmen outdoors.

This is now the fourth straight week that a Rebel has been named SEC Freshman of the Week (Shannon Ray on April 7, Dempsey McGuigan on April 14, Feldmeier on April 21).
