NCAA Championships Entries/Start Lists/Results

OXFORD, Miss. --
The Ole Miss track and field program will boast a strong presence in the preliminary round of the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships, as the NCAA accepted 30 entries between the men's and women's teams.

The NCAA East Preliminary Round will be held next weekend, May 28-30, at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

There will be 28 Rebel athletes -- 16 men and 12 women -- competing in 20 different events at the prelims, including recent 2015 SEC champion Brooke Feldmeier (800m) and SEC runners-up Jalen Miller (100m) and Dempsey McGuigan (hammer throw).

The NCAA Selection Committee accepted the top 48 performers in each individual event and the top 24 relay teams in both relays to compete at each site hosting the NCAA Preliminary Rounds for a total of 96 individuals and 48 relays competing in each event nationwide. The West Preliminary Round is being held in Austin, Texas.

The top 12 finishers in each event at the regional will qualify for the national semifinal and final rounds of the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held June 10-13 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Additionally, senior Fabia McDonald and freshman Brittany Kelly have automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in Eugene in the heptathlon by virtue of ranking top 24 nationally. McDonald ranks 14th in the country (5,736) and will be making her fourth career appearance at an NCAA Championship. Kelly ranks 22nd nationally (5,531) and will make her first NCAA appearance.

Last year, Ole Miss qualified seven athletes in four different events to Eugene, headlined by NCAA pole vault champion Sam Kendricks.

Current Rebels who have previously made appearances at the NCAA Outdoor Championships include Miller, Robert Semien, Phillip Young and McDonald.
