SEC Release

– Ole Miss men’s and women’s track & field received 14 All-SEC honors for the 2018 outdoor season, the conference announced Tuesday.

Of those 14, seven Rebels earned First or Second-Team All-SEC honors, with an additional seven being named to the SEC All-Freshman team. The All-SEC First-Team consists of the SEC champions in each event from the conference championship meet, with the Second-Team being comprised of the second and third-place finishers of each event. The SEC All-Freshman Team includes the top freshman finisher in each event at the conference meet.

Representing Ole Miss on the All-SEC First-Team were conference champions and national qualifiers Shelby Brown (3000-meter steeplechase), Robert Domanic (1500-meter), Janeah Stewart (shot put) and Brian Williams (discus).

Stewart was the Commissioner’s Trophy winner for the third-straight SEC meet with 24 points after her win in the shot put, her runner-up finish in the hammer and her bronze medal in the discus. The Rebel women finished fifth as a team, the highest outdoors in program history.

Rebels earning Second-Team distinction were Maddie McHugh (800-meter, third place), Lindsey Murray (pole vault, third place) and Lisa Vogelgesang (3000-meter steeplechase, second place).

Vogelgesang also featured on the All-Freshman team alongside Allen Gordon (long jump seventh place), Clio Ozanne-Jaques (5K, seventh place), Everett Smulders (1500-meter, sixth place), Shey Taiwo (discus, eighth place), Ylva Traxler (1500-meter, 10th place) and Peyton Weissmann (pole vault, fifth place).
