BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss track & field seniors Shannon Ray and Sean Tobin have been named to the 2018 SEC Track Community Service Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Both spent time participating in Reading with the Rebels, with Ray also spending time with the Adopt a Basket and Hope to Dream events, while Tobin additionally took part in the Read Across America event.

Ray qualified for the NCAA East Regional in both the 100-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay, qualifying for the national meet for the fourth-straight year in the latter. Ray ran the second-fastest 100-meter time in school history this season at 11.25 seconds.

Tobin, the SEC indoor champion in the mile, ended his illustrious Ole Miss career by scoring points for the Rebel men in the steeplechase and qualifying for the East Regional meet in the event this outdoor season. Tobin was also a First-Team All-American in cross country this past fall, finishing 12th overall. He ended his career with 90 career SEC points and 16 NCAA points on the track, taking with him a national title in the men’s distance medley relay indoors in 2017.
