Sofia Hellberg-Jonsen Tabbed Academic All-District Hellberg-Jonsen Earns Distinction For Second Time In Her Career

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior Sofia Hellberg-Jonsen has been selected to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District 6 team for track & field, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
With her selection on the all-district team, Hellberg-Jonsen will be placed on the ballot for Capital One Academic All-America consideration.
A native of Johanneshov, Sweden, Hellberg-Jonsen maintains a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in marketing & corporate relations. She also earned academic all-district honors as a second teamer in 2011.
On the track, she ranks fourth in school history in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best of 58.99. She has been a member of several 4x400-meter relay units that rank among the top in school history. She was an honorable mention Outdoor All-American in the 4x400 in 2011.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, the student-athlete must have had a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one academic year at their current institution.
