- Rebel freshman Shey Taiwo and Ole Miss signees Dalton Hengst and Kelly Rowe will compete at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships this coming weekend at Indiana University.

The junior championships feature athletes from 14-20 years old, with berths to the IAAF World Junior Championships on the line. The top two finishers in each event with the IAAF junior qualifying standard earn a trip to the world meet, which will be held in Tampere, Finland from July 10-15.

Taiwo, who earned two SEC All-Freshman honors during her first season at Ole Miss for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, is qualified and will compete in all three of her throwing events. First up is the women's discus (Fri., June 15, 3:30 p.m. CT), in which she enters with a career-best 48.72m (159-10) - already the fifth-best throw in school history that also fits the IAAF standard of 48.00m (157-05). That throw earned Taiwo eighth place at the SEC Outdoor Championships and scored for the Rebel women - who posted the highest SEC outdoor finish in program history.

Next up for Taiwo is the women's hammer (Sat., June 16, 4:25 p.m. CT). She owns a career-best 56.38m (185-00), the sixth-best in Ole Miss history and within two feet of the qualifying standard 57.00m (187-00). Taiwo concludes her competition with the women's shot put (Sun., June 17, 2 p.m. CT), entering with a PR of 14.46m (47-05.25) - the sixth-best ever at Ole Miss that is less than two inches off the standard 14.50m (47-07.00).

Ole Miss signee Kelly Rowe of Mansfield Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas, will compete in both the women's 100-meter (Fri., June 15, 2:15 p.m. CT) and 200-meter (Sat., June 16, 5:40 p.m. CT) prelims. Rowe owns the IAAF standard in both events at 11.71 in the 100-meter and 23.72 in the 200-meter.

Fellow signee Dalton Hengst of York, Pennsylvania, will also compete, running in the men's 1500-meter final at 3:05 p.m. CT on Sunday (June 17). Hengst owns the IAAF standard in the event at 3:45.59.
