BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Twenty-six Ole Miss student-athletes were named to the 2012 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as announced by Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive.  Ole Miss concludes the 2011-12 season with 133 student-athletes earning honor roll distinction from the conference.

With 608 student-athletes named to the 2012 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, a total of 2,581 student-athletes around the league earned Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2011-12.

Baseball, men’s golf and women’s golf led the Rebels with three first-year players on the honor roll.  Football, rifle, soccer, softball, women’s tennis, men’s track and field and volleyball each had two players on the list.  Women’s basketball, men’s tennis and women’s track and field each had one student-athlete named to the honor roll.
