OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's and women's cross country teams head to Nashville to compete at the Commodore Classic on Saturday.

The event will feature an 8k race for the men and a 5k for the women. The men's race begins at 9 a.m. with the women's contest following shortly after at 10 a.m. Both races will be held at Percy Warner Park.

"We're looking forward to going to Vanderbilt this weekend," Ole Miss head coach Brian O'Neal said. "We will run our same group from Memphis on both the men's and women's side, with the addition of Madison Rawson for our women."

The Rebel cross country teams look to improve on strong performances in the season opener, where the men claimed first place and the women third. The Ole Miss men are ranked fourth in the USTFCCCA South Region. The women's team ranks seventh in the same poll.

Mark Robertson won SEC Men's Freshman of the Week honors after his performance at the season-opening meet.

"This week's competition will be a step up from the Memphis Twilight Classic," O'Neal said. "We're excited to compete."

The Rebels will race against a field including SEC rivals Mississippi State and Vanderbilt at the Commodore Classic.
