OXFORD, Miss. - After two weeks off, the Ole Miss cross country teams return to action Saturday in the Greater Louisville Classic.

The 8K men’s race will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT with the women’s 5K following at 9:15 a.m. Both races will take place at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

“We’re excited to compete this weekend in the Greater Louisville Classic,” Ole Miss head coach Brian O’Neal said. “This represents another tough challenge for our teams.”

The Ole Miss men enter the meet ranked fourth in the USTFCCCA South Region. The 29 other teams competing on the men’s side includes 13 regionally ranked teams.

Mark Robertson won SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week honors for the second time in two meets this season after his performance in the Commodore Classic.

The Rebel women, ranked 10th in the South region, will race against 14 other regionally ranked teams.

Both teams will compete against SEC opponents Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee.

“The Greater Louisville Classic is an elite meet on a great course at Tom Sawyer Park,” O’Neal said.

E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park hosted the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships, where former Rebel Katie Breathitt was the first Ole Miss woman to compete at the NCAAs.
