TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rebel men’s and women’s cross country teams will come back from the Pre-National Invitational and return to Oxford in much the same form as previous meets, an improved squad.

Competing against many of the top teams and runners in the country, the Ole Miss women finished 12th overall in the Blue Race on Saturday, led by freshman Michaela Quinn who finished in 17th place with an impressive 6K time of 20:33.95. Not too far behind was junior Haley Cutright who placed 34th with a finish of 20:52.05.

"I thought we competed well," Head Coach Brian O'Neal said. "I was encouraged by the leadership both Michaela and Haley showed this weekend for our team. We now have to continue to stay healthy in preparation for another tough challenge in the SEC Championships."

Quinn and Cutright are the third and fourth Rebels in school history to run the 6K under 21 minutes, joining former Rebels Katie Breathitt and Logan Waites.

Junior Max Holman led the men with a 15th-place individual finish in the 8K with a time of 25:19.48.  Not far behind was freshman Robert Dominic with a time of 25:19.91 time and 16th-place overall finish.

The men finished in fourth place of the White Race.

"As a team we competed well under some tough conditions," O'Neal said. "We continue to get better as a whole each week. It was good to see Max and Robert run well."

The Rebels now have two weeks to prepare for the SEC Championships, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 1 in Gainesville, Fla.
