LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 24 Rebel men had a productive day amongst some of the best teams in the nation, finishing fifth in the seeded race at the Pre-National Invitational at Louisville on Saturday.

Ole Miss finished behind four top-12 ranked teams in the men's Red 8K race, while the No. 12 Rebel women finished ninth overall in their Red 6K race.

The Rebel men ran a compact race with all five scorers finishing in the top 61 places out of 282 finishers to earn that fifth-place finish at 193 points. Not only did Ole Miss finish behind those four top-12 teams -- No. 2 BYU (41), No. 7 Colorado (118), No. 8 Oregon (129) and No. 12 Virginia Tech (148) -- but the Rebels also took down three additional ranked teams in No. 27 Utah State (sixth, 312), No. 5 Arkansas (ninth, 374) and No. 19 Georgetown (14th, 447).

Leading the way yet again for the Rebels was senior Sean Tobin, who finished 20th overall at a season-best time of 23:30.3. All of the remaining Rebel scorers also finished with season-best times: freshman Parker Scott (33rd, 23:45.6), senior Derek Gutierrez (35th, 23:47.2), freshman Waleed Suliman (49th, 23:59.2) and senior Ryan Manahan (61st, 24:09.8).

The No. 12 Ole Miss women finished ninth with 360 points in a tough race where the top-seven team finishers were all nationally ranked, four of which were ranked in the top-10.

Freshman Clio Ozanne-Jaques ran a season team-best 6K time of 20:51.1 to lead the way for Ole Miss in 63rd place. Other Rebel scorers with season-bests include senior Hannah Christen (65th, 20:52.0), senior Shelby Brown (67th, 20:53.4), freshman Nicole Rice (86th, 21:03.6) and junior Anna Braswell (89th, 21:07.2).

Ole Miss also had participants in the unseeded races at Pre-Nationals today. Freshman Ben Savino led the Rebels in the men's Black 8K with a 43rd-place finish and a season-best 25:06.1, and fellow freshman Madeleine King had a similar outing in the women's Black 6K with a season-best 21:59.1 in 42nd place.

Up next for Ole Miss is the SEC Championships, held in Athens, Georgia, on Fri., Oct. 27.
