MJ Erb Named SEC Cross Country Men’s Co-Runner of the Week
Oct. 18, 2016

OXFORD, Miss. – After an impressive showing in just his second meet of the year, senior MJ Erb was named the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Men’s Co-Runner of the Week alongside Frankline Tonui of Arkansas, the league announced Tuesday.

Erb came away from his second race of the season with an individual win and a course record at the Penn State National Open. Erb’s time of 20:49 was tops out of the field of 144 and gave him the course record in his first attempt running the course, beating out many individuals who have run the same course multiple times before.

Erb’s effort helped the No. 11 Rebels take a second-place finish behind No. 9 Oklahoma State by just a few points. It also claimed him the No. 10 individual national ranking by FloTrack.org.

Erb and the Rebels will be back in action on Friday, October 28, when they head to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the SEC Championships.
