2018 D1Baseball Preseason All-America Teams

OXFORD, Miss. – As the 2018 season draws closer, more accolades continue to roll in for Rebel baseball as pitchers Ryan Rolison and Dallas Woolfolk have been tabbed to D1Baseball’s Preseason All-America teams, the organization released Tuesday.

Rolison, the No. 2 college prospect according to D1Baseball, landed on the second team, while Woolfolk, a member of USA Baseball this past summer, earned a spot on the third team.

The southpaw is coming off a Freshman All-America season (Collegiate Baseball) where he went 6-3 with a 3.06 ERA. The Jackson, Tennessee, native earned a spot in the rotation towards the end of thw 2017 campaign, and allowed the third-fewest runs (23) among stat-eligible pitchers. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and held opposing hitters to a .242 clip in 61.2 innings.

Rolison followed his freshman campaign as a Rebel with an even more impressive summer in the Cape Cod League for the Orleans Firebirds. Named a Cape Cod League All-Star, the lefty was named the No. 3 prospect in the entire league (according to Baseball America). He led the Firebirds with 35 strikeouts in just six starts, and finished with a perfect 4-0 record and 1.92 ERA.

Woolfolk is one of only six relievers on the preseason teams coming off a dominant 2017 season where he totaled 12 saves, one off the school’s single-season record. The righty held opposing hitters to a .200 clip and maintained a 41-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 37.2 innings of work.

The Southaven, Mississippi, native followed the spring with a highlight summer, where he spent the summer months with USA Baseball. As a member of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, Woolfolk tallied a 0.87 ERA in 10 appearances totaling 13 strikeouts and a .118 average against.

Woolfolk, Rolison and the remaining Rebels open the season with eight-straight at O-U Stadium/Swayze Field, beginning Feb. 16-18 with Winthrop. Season tickets are currently on sale at OleMissTix.com.
