Brady Feigl Wins Golden Spikes Performance of the Week
May 16, 2018

DURHAM, N.C. – Brady Feigl came through with one of the best pitching performances of his career last week, and it earned him Golden Spikes Performance of the Week honors from USA Baseball.

The junior right-hander tied his career-high with 8.0 innings pitched and set a new career mark with 12 strikeouts against a dangerous Auburn lineup. In doing so, he outdueled Casey Mize, who many project to be the No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick in June.

Feigl allowed just three runs and walked only one batter over eight-plus. He struck out five of the first six batters he faced and allowed just one run and four hits in the first seven innings. Through six, the Tigers had tallied just hits.

Feigl’s performance came in an 8-3 Rebel win as part of a critical SEC series sweep, their first of the season.

The outstanding outing earned Feigl a spot in the @USAGoldenSpikes Performance of the Week poll on Twitter, where he was set against Trevor Boone from Oklahoma State, Joe Wainhouse out of Washington and Will Watson from Maryland.

Rebel Nation finished the job Feigl started on Friday, giving him an overwhelming 58 percent of the 3,000-plus votes. Boone finished second with 33 percent of the tally.

Feigl’s next outing is set for this Friday, May 18, in Game 2 at Alabama, set for a 6 p.m. CT start time on SEC Network +.
