Tyler Keenan Named Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American
June 7, 2018

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tyler Keenan was named a freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball after an outstanding rookie season for Ole Miss baseball.

Keenan’s first year already has included a litany of honors. The third baseman out of Clayton, North Carolina, was the only freshman in the Southeastern Conference to earn Player of the Week honors. He also brought home two SEC Freshman of the Week awards and is the first Ole Miss freshman to win Player of the Week since Alex Presley in 2004.

Keenan finished the season with a .301 batting average over 54 games and 50 starts. He tallied 11 doubles and nine home runs, driving in 38 runs and scoring 35. His .520 slugging percentage was the third-best on the Rebel roster, and his .911 OPS was fourth on the team.

After earning the starting role at the hot corner, Keenan was fantastic defensively, making just five errors all year as well as a number of outstanding plays in one of the toughest positions on the diamond.
