BLOG: Pomeranz Works Toward Return To Majors

8 | Chris Coghlan | OF | Miami Marlins

Coghlan has been sidelined with a lower back strain, having been placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 9. He was batting .343 with four runs scored and nine RBI since moving into the everyday lineup on May 18. Through 51 games, he is hitting .277 (36-for-130) with nine doubles, three triples, a home run and 10 RBI. The Marlins are last place in the NL East with a 22-50 record, 21.0 games back of the division-leading Atlanta Braves.

2 | Zack Cozart | SS | Cincinnati Reds
Cozart has hit at a .301 clip over his previous 25 games, raising his average 37 points to .243. He hit his seventh home run of the season on Monday to extend his most recent hitting streak to seven games, but it was snapped on Tuesday. Through 65 games, he is hitting .243 (65-for-268) with 14 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 29 RBI. He ranks fifth among ML shortstops in home runs and sixth in RBI. 31 | Lance Lynn | RHP | St. Louis Cardinals

Lynn is one of just nine pitchers in the majors with nine wins for the season, improving his record to 9-1 in a 13-7 win against the Miami Marlins this past Saturday. He also helped himself at the plate, delivering a two-out, two-RBI single to extend the Cardinals' lead to 9-6. For the season, he holds a 3.56 ERA with 88 strikeouts against 32 walks in 86 innings over 14 starts. Lynn, who gets the start tonight against the Chicago Cubs, has helped St. Louis to the best record in baseball with a 46-26 mark.

Presley was recalled from the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians on June 9. His best performance in his latest stint, his third in the big leagues this season, came against the Los Angles Dodgers on June 16 when he went 3-for-6 with a home run. Through 17 games, he is hitting .293 (12-for-41) with a double, two home runs and two RBI. The Pirates are currently in the second wild-card spot, with a 42-30 record, 1.5 games back of the Cincinnati Reds and 4.0 games back of the NL Central division-leading St. Louis Cardinals.

Through 61 games, he is hitting .272 (59-for-217) with 18 doubles, six home runs and 29 RBI. The .272 average is his best mark since 2011 when he hit .284 for the season as a member of the Colorado Rockies.
