Each week here at OleMissSports.com we'll take a look at former Rebels in the Major Leagues and update Rebel fans on how the individual players (and their respective teams) are performing in a race for a pennant and ultimately a World Championship.
8 | Chris Coghlan | OF | Miami Marlins
Coghlan has been sidelined with a lower back strain, having been placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 9. He was batting .343 with four runs scored and nine RBI since moving into the everyday lineup on May 18. Through 51 games, he is hitting .277 (36-for-130) with nine doubles, three triples, a home run and 10 RBI. The Marlins are last place in the NL East with a 32-52 record, 16.5 games back of the division-leading Atlanta Braves, but have won 8 of their last 10 games.
2 | Zack Cozart | SS | Cincinnati Reds
A seven-game hitting streak highlighted Cozart's month of June, when he hit .244. Through 77 games, he is hitting .243 (75-for-309) with 19 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 33 RBI. He ranks court among ML shortstop in doubles, fifth in home runs and seventh in RBI. The Reds are third place in the NL Central with a 49-36 record, tied for the third-best mark in the National League and 3.5 games back of the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals.

31 | Lance Lynn | RHP | St. Louis Cardinals
Since the start of the 2012, Lynn is tied with R.A. Dickey for the second-most wins in the majors (28), behind only Max Scherzer (29). This season, he is tied for sixth in the majors with 10 wins and became just the second Cardinals pitcher to have at least 10 wins by the All-Star break in two of his first three seasons. For the season, he holds a 10-3 record and 3.75 ERA with 106 strikeouts against 39 walks over 17 starts. Lynn, who gets the start Sunday against the Miami Marlins, has helped carry St. Louis to a 50-34 record, the third-best mark in baseball, but also 2.0 games back of the Pittsburgh Pirates, which has the best record in baseball.
