OXFORD, Miss. – Fresh off the program’s ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 seasons and advancing to an NCAA Regional Championship game for the sixth time in the last eight years, the Ole Miss baseball team hits the field this weekend to begin fall camp in preparation for the 2013 season.
The Rebels take the field on Friday afternoon as a part of Scout Day. The team will then host a scrimmage at 1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the Ole Miss football game against the nationally-ranked Texas Longhorns.
Fans are invited to come out and watch the team scrimmage on Saturday afternoon before the football game. Admission is free to the scrimmage.
The Rebels will open the 2013 season the weekend of February 15 with a three-game home series against the Horned Frogs of TCU at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. The Rebels and Horned Frogs faced each other in the 2012 NCAA Regional Championship game played at Texas A&M University as a part of the College Station Regional.
The two teams also faced each other in the season-opener at TCU to kick-off the 2012 season.
Ole Miss will continue to hold practices and scrimmages each weekend throughout the fall until the conclusion of fall ball with the Ole Miss Baseball Fall World Series the weekend of October 27th.
