Fresh Faces of Ole Miss Baseball - Mississippi Rebs

With fall practice underway, the Ole Miss baseball team is already gearing up for the 2016 campaign. The fall season is also the time when the incoming recruiting class goes through official practice for the first time. This season features 17 newcomers beginning their Ole Miss careers. As practices and intrasquads continue, OleMissSports.com will introduce you to some of the newest Diamond Rebels each week through the remainder of the fall season.

This week, we meet three new Rebels from the state of Mississippi that decided to continue their baseball careers at Ole Miss. Check out the video below to learn more about the ‘Fresh Faces’ of Ole Miss Baseball.

#65 Parker Caracci | RHP | Jackson, Miss. – Jackson Prep
Caracci led his team to a combined 102-8 record in his three-year high school career at Jackson Prep. The right hander was a highly-touted recruit, named 2015 Honorable Mention All-Region (Southeast) and rated the 24th-best player in Mississippi by Perfect Game. Caracci was also tabbed as a 2015 Louisville Slugger High School Second Team All-American by Baseball America. He earned first team all-conference accolades as a junior and senior, including all-state honorable mention by The Clarion-Ledger following his final high school season. Caracci also lettered in football for three years as a wide receiver.

#43 Carson Klepzig | C | Southaven, Miss. – DeSoto Central HS
A three-year letterwinner, Klepzig helped lead DeSoto Central to their first state championship in school history. He collected second team all-state and first team all-district honors on his way to the title. Rated the best catcher in the state of Mississipppi and the 14th best player in the state by Perfect Game, Klepzig was named Honorable Mention All-American and Second Team All-Region (Southeast). His national recognition continues as he collected All-USA Mississippi First Team accolades by USA Today. The catcher also earned all-metro honors from the Commercial Appeal.


 

 

#24 Dallas Woolfolk | RHP | Southaven, Miss. – DeSoto Central HS
Woolfolk spent his days on the high school diamond with Klepzig. The two Rebels combined for a strong battery, leading DeSoto Central to the school’s first ever state title. Woolfolk was named 2015 Third Team All-American and First Team All-Region by Perfect Game, while also earning All-USA Mississippi Second Team accolades by USA Today. As a senior, the righty posted an 8-1 record and 1.98 ERA on the mound and even starred as an infielder, collecting first team all-state and first team all-district honors. He added all-metro honors from the Commercial Appeal to his resume as well. Perfect Game named him Underclass Second Team as a junior after he went 3-0 with four saves and a 1.42 ERA.
