On the win: “We just found a way for us to extend the game. Marshall (Henderson) was really down on himself for missing a layup which may have given us a win in regulation, but really I told them it was a gift we were able to get to where we were. We had to find a way to win the game. We did it defensively, we finally out rebounded them in overtime and we made foul shots. Obviously it helps when you get Marshall to the foul line, but Reggie (Buckner) had two big free throws at the end and we were able to manufacture a win.”
On the pace of game: “It’s hard to realize it since I’m used to it everyday, but you’d be surprised how much confidence wanes. It was almost as if we were trying not to lose, as opposed to being the aggressor. Georgia was playing with a lot of confidence. They had a three game road winning streak. We had opportunities in the first half, but they had a lot of timely threes. We came out and battled in the second half. (Kentavious) Caldwell-Pope, I think, is a first round draft pick. He made some big shots. At the end, we tried to deny him the ball and make other guys make plays.”
On Marshall Henderson: “Marshall and Murphy (Holloway) are really our energy. Murphy hasn’t been able to bring that as much, but he made some big plays down the stretch. For Marshall, it’s hard to get some confidence when you’re sitting by me. He picked up two early fouls, and then picked up his third within two minutes of the second half. We gambled a bit and put him back in there. He did a great job. He’s our playmaker. Not only with his ability to score, but off the ball as well.”
On moving on from this game: “I really believe that, as painful as that was going back and forth, this is what we needed. It was as if we had flat lined, and they brought out the paddles and shocked us back to life.”
