BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss seniors Reginald Buckner and Murphy Holloway were both named to the ninth annual coaches’ preseason All-SEC team the league office announced on Friday. Both Buckner and Holloway were second-team selections.

Buckner, a 6-9 forward from Memphis, Tenn., enters his senior season with the Ole Miss career record of 228 blocked shots, which ranks sixteenth in SEC history. He is the leader among returning SEC players in career blocks and ranks second in rebounds (609) and third in double-doubles (eight).

Holloway, a 6-7 forward from Irmo, S.C., is the active SEC leader in career rebounds, double-doubles and steals. He enters his senior season ranked ninth in school history with 743 career rebounds, eighth with 25 double-doubles, ninth with 136 steals and seventh with a .538 field-goal percentage.

Ten different schools are represented on the two teams with Tennessee having three selections while Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky have two selections each. In all, 36 different players received votes for the coaches’ teams.

The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC head men’s basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
