Dec. 22, 2017

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss student-athletes kept up their success in the classroom by posting the single-highest semester GPA in athletic department history with a 3.01 mark for the Fall 2017 semester.

This semester, 14 Rebels graduated and 53 percent of all Ole Miss student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better. A total of 204 Rebels were named to the AD’s honor roll (3.0 or better), with 108 of them being named to the Dean’s Honor Roll (3.5 or better) and 69 of them earning the top honor of the Chancellor’s Honor Roll (3.75 or better). Of that total, 28 Rebels finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

“We continue to be impressed by the individual and team successes of our student-athletes,” said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development Derek Cowherd. “As the overall stature of the University and the academic rigor of its academic programs grow, the more we see our students compete at the highest levels in the classroom. This semester’s achievements and the number of career-ready seniors that have graduated is a testament to those at the FedEx Center, the faculty and the coaches who pour their time and talents into each and every student at Ole Miss.”

Rebel soccer put together another incredible semester, leading the way with the second-highest semester team GPA in Ole Miss history at 3.69. The entire soccer team made the AD’s Honor Roll, with half earning Chancellor’s Honor roll and seven earning perfect 4.0 marks.
