Ole Miss Video Coordinators Commer, Buttgen Describe Process Of Breaking Down Video

Chris Buttgen is in his fourth season at Ole Miss and now serves as the director of football media.

He joined the staff in March 2012 after a four-year stint at Arkansas State University that saw him rise from being a student worker to becoming the school's first full-time video coordinator. Buttgen oversees all aspects of football scouting technology in the video office located in the Manning Center. He is also in charge of managing and was instrumental in designing the new Roland and Sheryl Burns Team Meeting Room. He is additionally in charge of producing weekly highlight motivational videos, recruiting highlight videos and general football promotional elements. He was named coordinating producer for RebelVision's critically acclaimed television show "The Season: Ole Miss Football" during the 2013 season and will continue in that role for the future.

Buttgen was instrumental in creating the Red Wolves' football social media presence while at Arkansas State, including creating head coach Hugh Freeze's Twitter persona, which is now one of the most recognized in college football. He continues this at Ole Miss as the team's social media monitor.

He is an active member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association. He graduated from Arkansas State in 2010 with a degree in radio/television audio video production, and is currently working on his master's in integrated marketing communication at Ole Miss.

A native of Newport, Ark., and a 2006 graduate of Newport High School, Buttgen began producing highlight videos for the Newport Greyhounds football team. Buttgen was born Feb. 6, 1988 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is married to the former Lisa Richards of Osceola, Ark.
