Ole Miss Video Coordinators Commer, Buttgen Describe Process Of Breaking Down Video

Andy Commer brought over two decades of experience in sports video to Ole Miss when he assumed the position of Coordinator for Football Video Services in March 2008.

It marks Commer's second stint in Oxford, having served as the Rebels' video coordinator during the 1995 and 1996 campaigns. He spent the previous 11 seasons at Arkansas.

Commer was named the 2004-05 Video Coordinator of the Year for the Southeastern Conference by the Collegiate Sports Video Association. While with the Razorbacks, he shot and edited all football games and practices, in addition to being involved in the video board production at basketball, track and baseball games, and other special events.

Commer also served in the same capacity for six seasons at Mississippi State.

Prior to his tenure at MSU, Commer served two years as assistant video coordinator with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. He was a student filmer and student athletic trainer while earning his degree from Arkansas State.

A native of Pine Bluff, Ark., Commer earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Arkansas State in 1987. He received a master's degree in athletic administration from Mississippi State in May of 1996.

Born July 16, 1964, Commer enjoys fishing and running. He and his wife, Amy, have two sons, Jacob, nine, and Will, six.
