Postgame Quotes

Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze
Opening statement
"Obviously we have a lot to work on. We made it a lot harder than it had to be. We didn't take care of
the ball offensively. Defensively, we struggled on third downs, but they made some big-time plays in big-time moments. The one thing that never was questioned was how hard they played for this university, and everyone should recognize that, so I'm proud of the guys. We should have had a lot more points, but at the same time, these are building blocks for these young kids. I'm just thrilled at the joy that they're experiencing in the locker room right now." On inconsistency in third quarter:
"We fumbled a punt, and that cost us a possession. We drove down and had a negative play on a first
down that hurt us, and we didn't kick field goals. But, it wasn't a question of whether or not our kids'
focus was there. We drove the football. I don't remember feeling like we couldn't drive it. We were
playing a pretty good team too, and we have to give them some credit." On Jeff Scott's return:
"We've counted on Jeff going into this season and fortunately he seemed to be healthy tonight. He had
to serve a little suspension for us because he missed a class so he sat out the first quarter, but he had a good three quarters after that. We're thrilled to have him back."

Postgame Quotes

OLE MISS PLAYERS
FS Cody Prewitt
You had an interception and a sack, how does it feel?
"It was so much fun. Just wanted to go out and compete and that's what I did."
Big turnaround from last year, how did that happen?
"I think it's just maturity. I'm having fun with the team. I just love playing football."
FS Trae Elston
Being that you are a freshman, talk about your performance tonight and what it took to get in the starting lineup.
"I am just helping my team out, playing my assignment and playing hard."
You made a huge hit at the end of the game, kind of like a "signature statement", talk about what happened.
"He just came across the field and I was just playing my assignment and came up with a big hit." Quarterback Bo Wallace
On performance:
"I played well, but the second half got a little sloppy. We'll go into this week and work on those things."
On Jeff Scott:
"He was huge for us, we tried to get him in the screen for us. Jeff had an awesome game and he's an explosive player."
On offensive line:
"They played well considering the blitzes that they saw this week, which they didn't see last week."
On season to this point:
"It's never as good as it seems, so we'll go into this week and get ready to work."
On Texas:
"The atmosphere should be huge. Everyone will be loud and I'm excited for next week." Running Back Jeff Scott
On game:
"I felt pretty good, I was about 85 to 90 percent. The coaches gave me 13 carries and I think I handled it pretty well.
Next Week:
"We have to get in the film room more, and study the defense and their best players. I will continue to work on my body to get ready for next week." OLE MISS VS. UTEP

Postgame Quotes UTEP HEAD COACH MIKE PRICE
Coach Seems like you couldn't get a big play out there?
"Yes, the red zone, we call it the orange zone. We just could not convert. We go to work every day, I
talked to the team every day about adversity. We did not quit, we went into halftime down 21-0 came
out the second half and beat them 10 to 7. Not easy beating a team when you are down 21 to 0 to come back and beat them 10 to 7. They whooped us up front offensively and defensively. Our offensive line did not pick up too well, Nick (Lamaison) got hit too many times. We made some plays outside, but we missed Nathan Jeffries obviously, we missed the field goals, and didn't capitalize on scoring
opportunities. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda but I'm proud of this team they did not give up. They are
tough, they will eventually be winners, and our injury situation is getting better. When did you know that Nathan Jeffries would not be able to go? When he warmed up?
"Ha! When he warmed up he wouldn't try anything you know!" You pretty much knew during the week?
"Yes, I pretty much knew during the week that he would not be able to go. One serious injury today,
Leslie Jordan took a lick that I am sure is going to leave a bruise." Compare Ole Miss's offense to Oklahoma's?
"I think Mississippi's offense plays better than Oklahoma's offense can play. I think Oklahoma's offense is going to be great, and they are a great football team. I don't think Oklahoma's offense played particularly well against us. I don't think Ole Miss played their best. I think the mis-direction stuff they use is really good. They did a good job of catching us off guard."

Postgame Quotes

UTEP PLAYERS
WR JORDAN LESLIE
On Leaving Opportunities:
"I feel like we did. We couldn't capitalize on a few plays, and they hurt us in the end. We learn not to get frustrated, just go out there and think about the next play and getting into the end zone."
On Where They Go From Here:
"Of course we feel good. But we left too many opportunities on the field. We just need to go to practice
and work hard on some of the things we struggled with." QB NICK LAMAISON
On Moving The Ball:
"We just need to execute better on offense, take advantage of our defense playing well. That's what
we're going to focus on this week, finishing our drives." On The Red Zone:
"We just need to do better in the red zone, execution-wise, and in the orange zone, as well."
On Game:
"I felt like there were a lot of big plays that we left on the field that could have been game changers, and we'll work on correcting that this week."
LB AUBREY ALEXUS
On Second Half Defense:
"We had an adversity, and we overcame it. We played hard, we never gave up, never quit."
On What Needs Improvement:
"Execution. Other than that, it's not much. We were great, the defense is one of the best defenses UTEP
has seen in a long time. We trust each other. Everybody just has to execute their jobs. That's about it."
