Ole Miss Football Postgame Quotes
Ole Miss vs. Southeast Missouri
Vaught-Hemingway Stadium – Oxford, Miss.
Sept. 7, 2013

Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze

On the game…
“We’re happy to be 2-0, come out of the game healthy, and get a lot of kids in the game.  Those kids give a lot of effort practicing and preparing, and some playing time is good.  At the same time, I’m disappointed in the passion we played with in the second half.  With the stretch of games we have coming up, that will not get it done.  We are going to need those second and third string players before it’s all over.  We have to expect more of ourselves and finish stronger.  If we want to go to the next level, we have to start playing better for the entire game.  We can do special things and shock some people, but we have to learn to play better with the lead as well as when behind.  I just wish the guys we put in in the second half would have finished the game cleaner.”

On Bo Wallace and the offense...
“I thought he started a little slow, but he got explosive.  He made some good decisions and good throws.  I struggled at halftime about whether to bring him back out, but we know he gives us the best chance to win.  We felt like we needed to give some other guys reps.”

On Evan Engram...
“He’s getting better and better as we determine what we can do with him.  He didn’t get a lot of snaps tonight, but I thought he had a good night when he was in there.”

On Serderius Bryant...
“He seemed to be solid.  His assignments were solid.  Serderius is a good player, and I don’t think the linebackers had any breakdowns.”

Ole Miss Players

#14, Serdarius Bryant, LB
On the win over Southeast Missouri …
“It feels good to get the win. Honestly, I’m really disappointed in the way we played the second half.  Ready to come back next week and get focused on Texas.”

On career high in tackles...
“The stat line doesn’t really matter to me. I am just glad we got the win.”

#25, Cody Prewitt, DB
On the win…

“Glad to get the win and go to 2-0. We have a lot of things we need to correct. In the second half we don’t feel like we played our best game.”

On next week’s game vs. Texas…
“Texas came here last year and really took it to us and we all feel as if we owe them for that.”

#14, Bo Wallace, QB
On game tonight…

“I thought we had a pretty good plan. There are probably three throws I wish I could take back, especially the one to Jordan Holder. If there is one person that deserves it it’s him, I just overthrew it.”

On touchdown to Evan Engram…
“It was a play that worked well against them last week, and luckily our guy is athletic enough to take it to the house. To have him come in as a true freshman and play the way he has is great, and we’re really grateful for him.”

On touchdown to Donte Moncrief…
“When I let it go I thought it was going to be high, but he’s a great athlete and he went up and got it.”

On playing Texas next week…
“You look at the game last year and we learned a lot from it. We know that we have the talent to play with them this year, and we just have to prepare and get ready for them.”

On play of offensive line…
“They did a great job. The defensive line showed us a lot of different things, which is what hurt us last week, but for them to come back and not give up any sacks tonight is a big win for us.”
