SERIES NOTES

  • Today's game marked the 51st meeting all-time between Ole Miss and Arkansas dating back to 1908.
  • Ole Miss records indicate Arkansas holds a 26-24-1 lead in the series, while Arkansas records show the Razorbacks holding a 27-23-1 lead in the series ... The dispute stems from a 13-7 Ole Miss win in 1914, where Arkansas claims a forfeit victory.
  • Arkansas is now 7-6 against Ole Miss since joining the SEC in 1992.
  • Ole Miss is 9-14-1 against Arkansas since the two teams resumed the series in 1981 following a 20-year hiatus (the two teams did meet in the 1962 and 1969 Sugar Bowls during that time).

REBEL NOTEBOOK

  • At 3-6 with two games remaining, Ole Miss will suffer its first losing season since going 5-6 in 1996.

  • The Rebels have lost three straight games for the first time since dropping five consecutive during the 2002 season.

  • Ole Miss falls to 0-3 against the SEC West this season ... The Rebels also lost 28-7 at Alabama on Sept. 11 and 35-14 to Auburn on Oct. 30.
  • Ole Miss has now trailed at halftime in 8-of-9 games this season after being down 28-3 at the break this afternoon.

  • The 32-point loss was the Rebels¡¦ largest margin of defeat since a 42-7 loss at Alabama on Oct. 19, 2002.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

  • Senior WR Bill Flowers caught five passes to pass Grant Heard (1996-2000) for second place on the Ole Miss career list for receptions with 146. Heard had 142 receptions in his career. Chris Collins (2000-2003) is the school's career leader in receptions with 198.
  • With 68 yards receiving, Flowers passed Floyd Franks (1968-70) and Michael Harmon (1979-1982) for sixth place on the Ole Miss career list for receiving yards. Flowers now has 1,774 career receiving yards. Harmon entered the day in sixth place with 1,760 and Franks was in seventh with 1,707.
  • With the 14-yard reception, Flowers passed Floyd Franks (1968-1970) for seventh place on the school¡¦s career list for receiving yards with 1,720. Franks had 1,707 career receiving yards.
  • Flowers caught a 14-yard pass from sophomore QB Ethan Flatt on the Rebels¡¦ first offensive play to extend his streak to 19 straight games with at least one reception. Flowers also had a 19-game reception streak from Oct. 20, 2001-Dec. 27, 2002.

  • The 50-yard run by redshirt freshman QB Robert Lane in the third quarter was the second longest rush by a Rebel this season.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

  • Arkansas¡¦ 8-play, 80-yard TD drive on its opening possession marked the fourth time in nine games this season that Ole Miss has allowed a score on the opponent's first offensive series (3 TDs, 1 FG).
  • The 72-yard TD run by Arkansas QB Matt Jones in the second quarter was the longest play from scrimmage allowed by Ole Miss this season. The previous long was a 69-yard TD pass by Wyoming back on Sept. 25.
  • The 28 points by Arkansas in the first half tied the most allowed by the Rebels in a half this season. Auburn scored 28 points in the second half of the Tigers¡¦ 35-14 win in Oxford on Oct. 30.
  • The 297 yards rushing by Arkansas was the most allowed by the Rebels since the Razorbacks gained 370 yards on the ground during the seven-overtime contest in Oxford in 2001.
  • With 126 yards rushing on five carries by Arkansas QB Matt Jones, Ole Miss has allowed a 100-yard rusher in 7-of-9 games this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

  • The 33-yard field goal by Jonathan Nichols on the last play of the first half, moved Nichols into a tie with former Alabama PK Michael Proctor (1992-1995) for sixth place on the SEC career scoring list with 326 points.
