OXFORD, Miss. - Led by All-American tight end Evan Engram, Ole Miss players hauled in numerous postseason accolades in 2016.

Engram became the 58th first team All-America selection in program history, earning that status from the Associated Press, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, CBS Sports, Scout.com and SB Nation. The Powder Springs, Georgia, native also won the Ozzie Newsome Award (nation's best tight end), Pop Warner College Football Award (excellence on the field and in the community) and C Spire Conerly Trophy (best player in Mississippi).

In total, Ole Miss boasted two All-Americans (Engram, PK Gary Wunderlich) and five All-SEC players (KR Carlos Davis, Engram, DE Marquis Haynes, QB Chad Kelly, Wunderlich).

A large freshman class contributed immediately on the field in 2016 and earned a number of honors. Five Rebels were recognized as Freshman All-Americans (DB Myles Hartsfield, WR Van Jefferson, DT Benito Jones, DB Jaylon Jones, OL Greg Little), and a total of eight earned Freshman All-SEC status (DB Deontay Anderson, OL Alex Givens, Hartsfield, Jefferson, B.
