BLOG: NFL Hopefuls Participate At Ole Miss Pro Day

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss’ Manning Center was packed with NFL scouts on Monday morning to see a number of current and former Rebels go through Pro Day workouts in hopes of realizing their professional football dreams.

At least 25 representatives from 22 different NFL teams were on hand to scout Rebel junior Donte Moncrief, seniors Pierce Burton and Jeff Scott and others participate in tests such as the 40-yard dash, bench press and position drills.

Official times and results will be posted in the coming days on NFL.com.

After putting up impressive testing numbers at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last month, Moncrief chose to only participate in the catching and route-running drills on his home turf.

The full list of 2013 seniors to participate were Barry Brunetti, Pierce Burton, Tyler Campbell, Dehendret Collins, Terrell Grant, Jordan Holder, Ja-Mes Logan, Mike Marry, Emmanuel McCray, Andrew Ritter, Charles Sawyer, Jeff Scott, Evan Swindall and Cameron Whigham.

Former Rebels to go through Pro Day workouts on Monday included A.J. Hawkins, Nick Brassell and Louis Covington.

Among the NFL scouts in attendance was former Ole Miss defensive back Von Hutchins, who now works with the Oakland Raiders.
