Grove Bowl Preview

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss held its final practice Friday before the finale of spring football drills, the BancorpSouth Grove Bowl set for 1 p.m. CT at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

With the program holdings its annual coaches' clinic, approximately 100 high school and junior college coaches from around the state were on hand for the Rebels' 60-minute, afternoon workout in helmets and shorts in the Indoor Practice Facility.

"Everybody is excited and geared up for tomorrow," said Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt. "We're looking forward to it."

Nutt was reluctant to name a leader in the quarterback race as spring draws to a close but did say he is pleased with the progress of junior Randall Mackey.

"I've been proud of him, first and foremost, with huddle etiquette," Nutt said. "I don't think that's going to be an issue. I'm excited about that."

Saturday's BancorpSouth Grove Bowl will be carried live on the Ole Miss Radio Network by the following affiliates: WQLJ-FM 93.7 (Oxford), WXRZ-FM 94.3 (Corinth), WWMR-FM 102.9 (Tupelo), WYMX-FM 99.1 (Greenwood), WFMN-FM 97.3 (Jackson), WDXO-FM 92.9 (Hazlehurst/Brookhaven) and WFMM-FM 97.3 (Hattiesburg). At 10:45 a.m., Rebel football players and coaches tread the traditional Walk of Champions as they head to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

At 11 a.m., a star-studded group of former Ole Miss Rebels will take part in an awards ceremony and panel discussion on the National Football League. "Life in the NFL" will be held on the Grove stage and feature NFL standouts Mike  Wallace, BenJarvus  Green-Ellis, Kendrick  Lewis, Tutan  Reyes and Micheal  Spurlock, retired Pro Bowler Deuce  McAllister and 2011 Draft hopeful Jerrell  Powe.

For the BancorpSouth Grove Bowl, stadium gates open at noon and kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission, $40 for the southzone club level and free for Ole Miss students, faculty and staff. All proceeds benefit the M-Club's J.W. "Wobble" Davidson Scholarship Fund.
