BLOG: Nkemdiche Video Highlights

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss' celebrated 2011 incoming class got even stronger on Thursday, as the Rebels signed defensive back Denzel Nkemdiche from Grayson High School (Loganville, Ga.) to an SEC financial aid agreement.

"Denzel helps our numbers in the defensive backfield immensely," said Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt. "He is physical and very fast. He is a blitzer who tackles fundamentally sound, and most importantly, he finds the football. With his versatility, he provides a lot of options."

At 5-foot-11, 198 pounds, Nkemdiche (pronounced kim-DEECH-ee) posted 101 tackles, 18 TFLs, eight sacks and three interception returns for touchdowns. On offense, he rushed for 192 yards and three TDs on just 39 carries in helping lead the Rams to a 10-4 record.

Nkemdiche joins a Rebel freshman group that was ranked among the top 20 signing classes in the nation and dominated the state of Mississippi. The class included the state's top five recruits (Rivals.com) and a record eight members of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger's "Dandy Dozen."
