NFL REBELS: 22 Make Opening-Day Rosters

Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the exploits of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL. Ole Miss has a huge presence in the NFL again this year. There were 22 former Rebels on NFL rosters in the opening weekend of the 2013 season, including such superstars as two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and six-time Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Willis.

Here's a rundown of how each former Rebel performed in week one of the 2013 NFL season:

#38 Brandon Bolden | RB | New England Patriots
Inactive for the Patriots’ 23-21 season-opening win at Buffalo on Sunday.

#42 BenJarvus Green-Ellis | RB | Cincinnati Bengals
As the Bengals’ starting RB, rushed 14 times for 25 yards and a touchdown and had one catch for four yards in a 24-21 loss to Chicago on Sunday.

#76 Greg Hardy | DE | Carolina Panthers
Started at DE and posted three tackles and a pass breakup in a 12-7 loss to Seattle.

#74 John Jerry | OG | Miami Dolphins
Started at right guard in a 23-10 win over Cleveland on Sunday.
 
#94 Peria Jerry | DT | Atlanta Falcons
Started at DT and sacked Drew Brees once in a 23-17 loss to New Orleans on Sunday.

#75 Rishaw Johnson | OG | Kansas City Chiefs
Added to the Chiefs’ practice squad last week.

#23 Kendrick Lewis | FS | Kansas City Chiefs
As the starting FS, made three tackles, including a TFL, in a 28-2 win over Jacksonville on Sunday.

#10 Eli Manning | QB | New York Giants
Completed 27-of-42 passes for 450 yards (2nd-most in his career) and four touchdowns, with three interceptions, in a 36-31 loss to Dallas on Sunday Night Football.

#70 Bobby Massie | OT | Arizona Cardinals
Inactive for the Cardinals’ 27-24 loss to St. Louis on Sunday.

#38 Trumaine McBride | CB | New York Giants
Made his Giants debut and played on special teams in a 36-31 loss to Dallas on Sunday Night Football.

#22 Dexter McCluster | WR/PR | Kansas City Chiefs
Caught three passes for 43 yards and returned seven punts for 80 yards in a 28-2 win over Jacksonville on Sunday.

#74 Michael Oher | OT | Baltimore Ravens
Started at right tackle in a 49-27 loss to Denver in the NFL opener on Thursday and left the game after suffering a sprained ankle in the second quarter.

#58 Ashlee Palmer | LB | Detroit Lions
Started at outside LB, but did not record a tackle, in a 34-24 win over Minnesota on Sunday.

#78 Jermey Parnell | OT | Dallas Cowboys
Saw action in a 36-31 win over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

#99 Gerald Rivers | DE | St. Louis Rams
Inactive for the Rams’ 27-24 win over Arizona on Sunday.

#33 Jamarca Sanford | SS | Minnesota Vikings
Started at strong safety and recorded nine tackles in a 34-24 loss to Detroit on Sunday.

#79 Bradley Sowell | OL | Arizona Cardinals
In his Cardinals’ debut, saw action in a 27-24 loss to St. Louis on Sunday.

#60 Chris Spencer | OL | Tennessee Titans
Saw action in a 16-9 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

#15 Micheal Spurlock | WR/PR | Detroit Lions
Made his Lions’ debut and returned five punts for 37 yards in a 34-24 win over Minnesota on Sunday.

#32 Cassius Vaughn | CB/KR | Indianapolis Colts
Saw action in a 21-17 win over Oakland on Sunday.

#11 Mike Wallace | WR | Miami Dolphins
In his Dolphins debut, started at WR and caught one pass for 15 yards in a 23-10 win over Cleveland on Sunday.

#52 Patrick Willis | LB | San Francisco 49ers
As the starting inside linebacker, made five tackles in a 34-28 win over Green Bay on Sunday.
